In implementing the Volkswagen sustainability strategy, the objective of our operational team is to support the group and its brands in their efforts to transition towards sustainable, networked, secure and tailored mobility solutions for future generations, while promoting climate-neutral and responsible management at the same time.
We advise on both conceptual and operational challenges in sustainability strategy & reporting, ESG risk management, non-financial controlling and stakeholder management and communication. Through our ESG-related consulting services, we promote a consistently high process quality and create security for decision makers.
We provide targeted and structured support for the path towards a “sustainable investment” and analyse the significance of non-financial factors. In addition, we are specialised in ESG-related ranking/rating processes and optimise non-financial reporting to meet the needs of the target audience.
Reducing an organisation’s CO2 emissions by increasing energy efficiency and sustainably reducing energy costs are just two of many benefits of an energy management system. We support the maintenance and optimisation of the energy management system by defining and tracking energy performance indicators. In addition to communicating targets, KPIs and savings results to specific target groups, we also help organise cooperation between all stakeholders and increase energy awareness in the workforce.
We provide support in preventing and reducing CO2 emissions along the entire value chain and shifting towards less carbon-intensive or renewable energy. In addition, we help find ways to offset unavoidable carbon emissions by working together with our network to initiate suitable climate protection projects. This also includes emissions within the stakeholders, associated areas and the value chain, such as by tracking the carbon footprint of business trips and events.
We assist our customers in intensifying their efforts to conserve wildlife at the plant site and elsewhere. The key to this is to raise awareness among employees and stakeholders through environmental education, the design and implementation of biodiversity programmes, optimal land use and a more efficient use of resources. We also supervise exchanges with various stakeholders such as suppliers, local business partners, social actors and the scientific community.
We support innovative materials management processes into which we integrate the entire supply chain. By applying best practices from our network, our aim is not only to create opportunities to exchange ideas, but also to open up to new approaches in this field.
We promote recycling through measures such as the structured implementation of material reuse and the cascade recycling of materials both internally and within the supply chain; life cycle assessments and closed-loop recycling; the design of control processes for the continuous testing of higher-value disposal routes or compliance with the standard logistics specifications for suppliers.
The Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz) recently initiated by the German government aims to create a legal framework to improve environmental protection, human rights and the rights of children along global supply chains. We assist our customers in matters of due diligence and specific measures for safeguarding their supply chain.
In addition, we would like to support our customers and their suppliers in implementing the new “North Star” purchasing strategy with a focus on synergies throughout the group, active cost planning, access to innovations, supply chain excellence and stronger interactions between people, competence and attractiveness.
